The Hong Kong Coral Garden Project

Founded in 1998 in Hong Kong, SDA Marine has its office in Hong Kong and works on a wide variety of marine archaeology and underwater projects all over the world.

The SDA Marine Hong Kong Coral Gardening Project is a new not-for-profit community initiative to restore and replenish coral communties in the waters of Hong Kong. Despite the impact of intensive human development and climate change, Hong kong still boasts more coral diversity than the Caribbean Sea. The Hong Kong Coral Garden Project seeks to raise awareness of marine conservation but primarily to take practical action to implement coral propagation and restore coral communities.  This action will help create healthier oceans for the benefit of future generations. With input from scientific experts in the field, SDA Marine seeks to use its specialist experience of international underwater operations to implement positive and effective change to the local marine environment and inspire others.

SDA Marine is currently undertaking specialist training in underwater coral propagation methods and identifying its first coral garden site.

While many organisations enhance awareness and education, the Hong Kong Coral Garden Project is primarily focused on delivery of positive action to improve the local underwater environment.
